4th of July in Kanab

The kids and I went to Kanab to spend an extended weekend with my parents. Rob couldn't come because he had to work and we sure did miss him. Before we left Ellie said "the trip won't be fun without daddy" but we did end up having a little fun. On the 4th we went to the festivities in town. It was hot but Ellie loved the parade and the fireworks. The next day we went to Lake Powell and had some fun on the boat. It was Easton's first trip out there and he did pretty well. He actually didn't like the sand to get on him, which surprised me. He would get a little upset and unhappy when he got sand on his hands and feet! Saturday we had a small family reunion with my dad's family. We had lunch and breakfast together and played some games. I was exhausted when it was all over but it was great to make memories with my kids and family.

Ellie loves being the flag girl for the skiers.

Nancy is the baby whisperer. They all love her. How could they not?

Ellie collected potato bugs in great- grandpa's yard and put them in a jar. She loved those bugs and was pretty sad the next day when they died.

Easton also liked playing with McCoy.

We only got to spend a couple of minutes at the splash park before it started raining. We did get to go back the next day.

Easton loves his papa.

Ellie was feeling a little hot in 100+ degrees. We were in the shade to start the parade but by the end we were in the sun.
