When It Rains it Pours

Our back yard after a recent thunderstorm. This happens almost every afternoon lately!

"When it rains, it pours" is a true statement about the summer storms in Utah lately but also about our life right now. Three weeks ago we took a trip to Lake Powell and while skiing Rob crashed hard and injured his leg. This whole thing has been a up and down roller coaster for all of us since then. He was in a lot of pain and so we first took him to the insta-care in Springville and the Dr. there told us that he probably just pulled or bruised his hamstring muscle. Luckily he took X-rays and a couple days later we got a phone call saying that the radiologist thought that he actually cracked his femur and that we should go see a sports medicine Dr. So, we went to the sports specialist, took more x-rays, and got a MRI done. After all of that we learned that his femur in fact was not cracked but his all three of his hamstring muscles are torn and that he would most likely need surgery to repair them. Since then we have searched unsuccessfully to find a surgeon who knows how and who will repair it. I won't bore you with more details but it has been kind of ridiculous with several doctors who are giving us contradictory advice and it seems that everyone we need to make an appointment with suddenly goes on vacation. Right now we still don't know what is going to happen or what the best option for us is going to be. In the mean time, next week I am going to be teaching a class for Alpine School district (I have been planning it for months and there is really no one else right now that can do it) so I am hoping that they don't want to go ahead and do surgery and if they do then things will  get even crazier! On a good note my baby Ellie turns 2 next week and I will have a fun post about her for you then.

Here are some pictures of our summer fun before Rob's accident:
These are my cousins that she liked playing with at a Willis family reunion. It rained there too.
